My ideal job

Tuesday, September 10, 2013

Well, my ideal job would be something that allowed me to travel and meet new people from all around the world, along with new places unknown for me. This job would be anything from an archaeologist to a musician, or maybe a chef, even a translator would work for me. But since i'm studying anthropology (and I'm not 100% sure of what specialization I'm going to choose) I'll pick archaeology as my ideal job.

The qualities and skills that I would need i think that need to be social skills, because the archaeologists never work alone, and they take part in multidisciplinary teams very often. An important quality I would say that this job need is an adventurer spirit, because the archaeological sites are frequently hidden and in places where the access is troublesome, another good quality would to be studious and a good reader, because you need to be informed about the place where you are going, the people that habits these places, and the history of the place.

I think I would be good at this job because I have the skills needed to work with people, and I love to discover new places, but not only that, I also enjoy  travelling through the route when I'm going to these places. For another side I like knowing the history of the places that I visit, so the lack of information wouldn't be a problem.

Once the archaeologists leave the university I don't think it would be too difficult for them to find a job, because there's always new excavations and places to explore, and the ones who has been already studied can always be revisited and reanalyzed with another perspective.
